you planted me

in richest soils

spoke in sunshine-lies

I smiled through shadows, weeds

naive to your gnarly roots

creeping ’round my garden-heart

I forgave the rain

ripping petals one by one

but God sees your ways

and I will bloom

without you

44 words of poetry including the word “garden”.

We are honoured to have Victoria C. Slotto hosting our Quadrille prompt.

Doors open at 3 p.m. EST.

Spills secrets

On cloud canvass

Shades of clementine

Zig- zags of lemon zest

 Layers of cinnamon swirls

Cosmic candlelight dims on cue

Speckles of honey ginger sky gloss

Night covers day in tangerine kisses

For “Meeting the Bar”, Victoria reintroduced the etheree, a form of poetry that ascends from one to ten syllables or words.¬† A reversed etheree would read from ten to one. These can be alternated and stacked to create a geometrical poem. Drop in and check out more of them at dVerse.
