Nebulous

Posted on

you did not vanish

lies lurk, thicker than air

your steps brushed clean

by a stranger

or stranger things

I live in the ground clouds

swinging blind

pecking on scraps of why

my pain, unnamed

but not void

I choke on hollow handfuls

of sympathy

traditional, medicinal

heartfelt, but not felt

and still I find you

a faint flicker in the fog

a single sparkle in the grass

tucked between the layers

                                                             of twilight’s painting

                                                             scarlet and saffron

you are there

I hope you see me

The End

Posted on

DSCF7968

Every moment we are still together

Mother and daughter, so sacred

I have the unfortunate knowledge

It will not last

Because I have been there

Facing the impossible

Denying the unthinkable

 I have been there

When the bottom falls out

Making you wonder why

You invested your soul, your heart, your mind

If only for a short time

Why do we love so much

Knowing it will cause so much pain?

Why are we given these precious moments

Leaving us vulnerable and needing more?

I have been there

Devastated by the loss

Frozen in my tracks

Wondering where my next breath will come from

Kicking at pieces of my heart

Laying on the floor

Because life was over as I knew it

So today I look at you,  aging with grace

I hang on to your every word,

Every beloved gesture

Until the end.

My 1st “Best Moment Award”

first-best-moment-award-winner

“Awarding the people that live in the moment,

The noble who write and capture the best in life,

The bold that reminded us what really mattered,

Savoring the experience of quality time.”

I would like to thank a very interesting young lady and talented writer named Esta Chappell for this award.

Be sure to pay a visit to her very interesting blog at http://chinatripping.wordpress.com/

As an expat in China, she shares with us the culture, landscape and life as she experiences it in a foreign land. Her intriguing stories are further enhanced by her wonderful photography.  Esta is a free lance writer and ecologist. She writes articles for http://www.echinacities.com/, another place to read her excellent work.

Thank you, Esta.

As I humbly accept this award, my heart is full of love for blogging and appreciation for an amazing world of writers I would otherwise have never met. It is necessary in my journey of life to express myself and this has given me a comfortable forum to do that. I am still very surprised when others leave comments on my blog as I would never expect that what pours out from my mind to a keyboard would have any impact on someone else….but I am happy when it does. I am thankful for the supportive environment, new connections I have made and excited each day to read! I don’t read books very often (I know, that’s terrible), but I am captivated by the personalities, brave stories, poetic talent, mesmerizing photography, open hearts and minds that accompany my cup of tea each morning……and night……and ok…a few others times in between.  Is there an Addicted to Blogging Award? There should be.

It was so difficult to choose my nominations as I am continually moved by all of the bloggers that I follow regularly. I decided to give a shout out to some of those not mentioned during my last award nomination. I understand if some of you are too busy to properly accept but I am shouting out to you anyways. So listen up!

My nominations are:

Moments pass by quickly, like ships in the night……..

Snow Smitten

Winter has finally spoken in our little southwestern town of Ontario.

Maybe it was waiting to make this eloquant entrance, to blow us away with it’s beauty and grace.

Dancing featherweight flakes…….

Fluff at your feet feels fabulous……

Cozy white blankets on bushes……

Silouetting sleeves of white sit perfectly on branches…..

Until  over zealous blasts of air quickly send them to the ground.
