autumn exhales a deep breath
as feeble leaves lose their grip
whispering sweet farewells
to nurturing limbs
I watch them cradle-rock
to the pulse of Mother Earth’s song
silently sweeping, weeping
but bravely repelling
the magnet of years past
finding new ways to grow

This week’s photo challenge is (extra)ordinary, seeing something very common in a whole new light. Although I must have a thousand photos of trees and leaves in Autumn, I think this one has a magical feel to it.

Summer slips quickly
Into winter’s dream
As fall fakes a smile
Amused at the lens
Say “Leaves”
And they gather
In layers lost
Before our eyes
Bits of space unnoticed
Until blinks are detected
Don’t blink
These moments have a life
Of their own
If we don’t give them one
