Mother Goose....Mushroom rock

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

If I were to tell you about me,

I would say I know who I think I am,

What I believe in and how I feel about life.

Other than that, I do not have a clue

Of what others perceive me to be.

No one ever tells me.

Maybe I am not what I think I am.

All I know is what inspires me,

what moves me,

what I need in my life,

whether I get it or not…..

I just know.

It took a very long time for me to figure that out.

Some other stuff about me:

I am 57. That’s what my birth certificate says. I don’t know how it happened.

Some of my passions are music, nature, writing , travel and LIVING life.

I am Canadian and very proud to be.  I love the diverse, open-minded, beautiful country that I live in.

As a mother, I can attest to one of life’s greatest challenges.

As a wife,  I can admit it isn’t always easy. Marriage is about work and compromise, like any other agreement or commitment.

I like a good cup of tea in the morning………every morning……or look out.

Five days a week, you can find me sitting on the floor surrounded by babies or toddlers. It is the most rewarding  professional  career I can  ever imagine.

Losing people I love has changed my life.

Sharing my experiences and expressing my thoughts are things I feel compelled to do.  I believe we were put on this earth to share with others. I think that’s why we have different gifts, talents, and knowledge. Remember “Show and Tell” in kindergarten? It’s a good concept. We learn from each other and we can continue to do that for the rest of our lives.

Hope you enjoy my pictures, poetry and pondering thoughts.

Have a great day!

Hello – Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my poem. We seem to have a lot in common, beginning with the fact that we share a country (Canada), and love poetry 🙂

  36. That’s quite a wonderful “About” page. Thank you for the follow; I hope what I “show and tell” will continue to be of interest. Be well!

  37. Wonderful “About.” My dad was born in Canada but died in WWII when I was a baby (he had dual citizenship). I love to see your passion for your wonderful country.

  40. I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I’ve nominated your blog for the One Lovely Blog Award. Please don’t feel any pressure to accept. Here’s the link to find out more.

  41. Hi! I am glad we have met here in the world of blogging! I think we are going to enjoy each other’s blogs. By the way, I love Canada. My brother and sister attended Niagara University in upstate NY. So…when I was little, we would go to Canada quite often when visiting them. Also, my wife and I spent New Year’s Eve in Montreal in 2011. A little too cold…I have been to Montreal in the summer too. I will stick to my summer visits!

    • Glad to hear you love Canada! Niagara Falls on the Canadian side is SO much more spectacular. (just sayin’) I have not been to Montreal…yet. As far as the cold…it is nice to have such extremes in our seasons. Makes you appreciate them more. Living in Southern Ontario, we really have some warm summers, but we try to save our visits to family in New Mexico and California for the winter months to escape a bit of the cold. 🙂

      • I grew up in NY, and attended college in Boston. I have only lived in SoCal for a little over 2 years. So. I know all about the cold. And, I totally agree, the Canadian side of Niagara is way nicer! I honestly never hated the cold, but now that I live somewhere that has amazing weather, I could never go back to the cold haha.By the way. NM is awesome. I love that state. So cool.

  42. Yes, I agree, this IS a beautiful blog. So glad to find others of like-mindedness. I started my very first blog on grandmothering; hoping to have a discussion forum where grandparents could share things we’ve learned along the way. I am so new to blogging; I am getting bogged as I blog. But, I wanted to impart similar things as you have done and what a great community this is for doing just that. Thanks for the inspiring photos and poems.

  43. Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking one of my posts. I am impressed with what you are doing here. Love the MLK quote. Keep up the good work.
