Her thoughts drifted
With shaving cream clouds
Reshaping themselves
Like her dreams
Baby blue backgrounds
Beckoned her
Softer landings
Welcomed her
With raspberry tarts
And bubble milk tea
Embracing the orb of night
She took to the sky
S l o w l y
Rising gracefully
To the stars
De is hosting over at dVerse Poets Pub today. We are writing quadrilles of exactly 44 words incorporating the word “bubble”. Fun stuff!
“shaving cream clouds” — are you KIDDING me with this? How have I never written this? This is brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Beautiful piece, all ’round, but that phrase is a wish-I-wrote-it if I ever heard one!
Thank you!! haha!
I work with toddlers. Today we played with shaving cream as a sensory activity. Children can inspire. 😉
It’s almost like an out-of-body experience with her r i s i n g slowly. And those clouds do look just like shaving cream…a beautiful poem.
Thank you.
Oh I love the shaving cream clouds… so perfect… and yes I would like to rise to sleep rather than fall asleep… so much better… an idea comes to mind:
I’d rather, rise for clouds
and stars
and moons
in dreams
than fall for darkness
bound
when it’s time to sleep.
Aww..sleep..I like this interpretation…and I appreciate your poetic response. Lovely!
Shaving cream clouds — fabulous! Haven’t heard the term milk bubble tea in many a year. Love this one!
Thank you, lillian! 🙂
Very imaginative and whimsical, and I love those ending lines:
S l o w l y
Rising gracefully
To the stars
Love that bubble milk tea ~
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it, Grace. 🙂
What a beautiful scene you have created! Loved that ending.

Thanks Sumana…glad you liked it. 🙂
Now I want to drift slowly up to the sky holding onto the orb of night! Love this!
Aww…thanks! 🙂
Oh my word. This is stunning.
I especially like “Baby blue backgrounds / Beckoned her / Softer landings” and “She took to the sky / S l o w l y / Rising gracefully / To the stars.”
Thank you for the kind comment! 🙂
slowly rising to the stars in the shaving cream clouds…transcending…
