Does this blur have a beat?
My journey, my song
Is unwritten
Notes on pages
Lines on roads
Tarmac, tat-a-tat
Feeling kind of sick of that
Let me hear the wind
Drumming on mesas
Harmonizing layers
Of earth and sky
Tumbleweeds will try
To rock and roll my soul
And clouds can dance, you know

This week for dVerse Poetics, our prompt was the “rhythm of the road”.
hearing the wind drumming on the mesas…ha…i love how you capture the music of the land as you whiz on by….smiles.
Thank you! ๐
Yes, clouds do dance…
๐
the wind on mesas.. yes there is something very special driving through the desert…
It’s my favourite environment (so far)…I would trade a lake for a canyon any day. ๐
Love the feel of this…and the photos reminded me of a desert trip I took once.
Great! Glad you enjoyed it. This was one of a few trips through New Mexico to visit family. I always have a hard time not “stopping to smell the cactus”. ๐
there is always music that matches the land… that first photo reminds me of the stretch of U.S.54 from Dalhart TX. to Tucamari N.M… ๐ one shouls always stop and smell the cactus… ๐
These photos were taken while travelling on I25 through N.M. just south of Albuquerque. Thanks for stopping by. ๐
This has a wonderful rhythm! And, yes, the photos look very familiar. I’m happy you stopped by my blog. Mish!
Thank you, Charlotte. I will stop in again. ๐
Rock’n and Roll’n on the road…really enjoyed this.
Thanks, Ronald! ๐
Lived in the southwest for many a year – you captured it nicely
