You can be part of the flow
The current that carries
So many souls in transit
Searching for truth
Sailing for certainty
Or you can finally let go
Abandon this ship
This mere mission of clarity
For life is not a search
Life is the water
The waves caressing the rock
The ripples of rhythm
Keeping time with your heart
The sun on your face
Warming your skin
In this very moment

Thanks for your kind comments, Sharon. 🙂
Lovely. I love the lines “for life is not the search. Life is the water.”
Thank you. 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you, Donna. 🙂
“For life is not a search, life is the water,” the second stanza does a beautiful job of grounding the reader. Lovely imagery 🙂
Hi Lori, I appreciate your comments. Thanks for stopping in. 🙂
nice…i think for many life is a search, though in it we foten miss the river that flows through which could be the answer all along…
I think many believe that life is a search. I don’t think it’s meant to be one…just an opinion that inspired me here. The river running through with the answer all along….wow, I could really visualize that. Thanks. 🙂
This is written so lovingly….so beautifully expressed … wonderful to read again and again 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂
Life is a journey..we are always searching..that picture is beautiful as is the poem..
Thank you. I took the photo at a tiny inlet branching out from Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes in Ontario.
🙂
imaginative and lovely. I really love this poem….
Thanks for your kind comments. 🙂
A wonderful reminder in this poem..I like the phrase “sailing for certainty, or abandon the mission for clarity.” Nicely, and gently, put.
Thank you. 🙂
“Life is the water.” Very true.
