An ABC poem
Featured this week in Poet’s Corner and shared with dVerse
All eagles glide
Bound only by hope
Certified souls in flight
Driven by the wind
Emanating life
Feathers floating on thermals
Gaping canyon chasms
Hang below talons
Infinite skies of turquoise
Jagged rocks and ridges
Knotted pinion trees
Latching softly on edges
Muted exultation
Navigating our senses
Oozing sweet silence
Promising peace
Quilted in the clouds
Right in front of our eyes
Soaring vicariously
Timeless and true
Unanchored by guilt
Visions of heaven
Weightless and empty
Xcept for our hearts
Yes, our hearts
Zigzagging in the wind.
Good read. >KB
Thank you. π
very nice….a lot of times with the ABC poems they can come across so disjointed…but i like how yours flowed…i like the freedom of being unanchored by guilt as well…smiles.
A to z at your sea, nicely done as free you are under your sun
I like the photo and eagle theme…felt like I was gliding, soaring with them above the canyon.
Thank you.I’m glad you enjoyed it. π
there are phrases in here enough for a dozen sonnets.
The splendiferous landscape hanging from the talons of the birds, will be an abiding image
Hi aprille, it was a challenge to follow the alphabet and still keep the flow. I wasn’t happy with the amount of phrases running on, but decided not to alter it in the end. Thanks for dropping in. π
The rhythm is inspiring. π
Thanks, belsbror…honestly, the rhythm was the furthest thing from my mind as I concentrated on the alphabet. π
Beautiful, both the poem and the photo. This is reflective of your recent weather comment on Bucket List Publications π
Thanks Lesley! I love the southwest because of the sunny skies and rock formations. I took this photo at Dead Horse Point, Utah, still one of my most favourite places on earth.
Thanks for dropping in. π
Lovely write π
Thank you, Melanie. π
